AJ Durand develops engaging, high-quality course media for technology-rich teaching and learning environments including graphics, audio/video, and interactive elements for the Learning Design & Development team at SoPA.
As an "Experience Engineer", AJ enjoys creating spaces for users navigating both real-world and virtual spaces. He’s an award-winning nightlife entertainer, trapeze enthusiast, and hosts a digital network, where he leads courses in productivity, self-success, and spiritual creativity for the LGBTQIA+ Community.
He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Design from Tulane University School of Professional advancement in 2023. In his 20s, he studied Theatre Arts at DePaul University and holds an Advanced Teaching Certification in Yoga from Yogaview in Chicago. He’s led workshops and teacher trainings across the country on yoga philosophy, history and practice. He founded and LXD Internship program and mentors students as a Design Coach for the Media & Design program, contributes to the Digital Design Co-op and is the Alumni Advisor for the Tulane AIGA Student Group. He lives in Austin, TX with his partner and 3 cats.
